“Democratic Republic of the Congo: Request for an independent investigation into the murder of Chérubin Okende by the association of Women Enamored of Justice”

The article that I have chosen to write concerns a topical subject in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is the request of the Women Lovers of Justice for the Liberation of Salomon Kalonda Idi Della (FJUSKD) association for an independent investigation into the murder of Chérubin Okende. This association, made up mainly of women, organized a demonstration in front of MONUSCO headquarters in Kinshasa to denounce violations of fundamental rights and freedom of expression in the country.

In a memorandum given to the UN mission, the women of the FJUSKD also denounced the arrest of Salomon Idi Kalonda and Mike Mukebayi, two executives of the opposition political party Together for the Republic of Moses Katumbi. They believe that if no action is taken to ensure the security of the Congolese population, they reserve the right to take legal action before the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the UN mission and the embassies present in the country.

A request for an independent investigation into the murder of Chérubin Okende is essential to shed light on those responsible for this violent act. The women of the FJUSKD demand justice for Chérubin Okende and for all victims of human rights violations in the DRC. They also demand that measures be taken to ensure the safety of the Congolese population and put an end to arbitrary arrests and violations of freedom of expression.

This request raises important questions about respect for human rights and freedom of expression in the DRC. It is crucial that the authorities take the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of the population and to investigate all cases of violations of fundamental rights. The fight for justice and the protection of human rights in the DRC is a major issue, and it is essential that the voices of the women of the FJUSKD are heard.

In conclusion, the request of the association Femmes Enprises de Justice pour la Liberation de Salomon Kalonda Idi Della (FJUSKD) for an independent investigation into the murder of Chérubin Okende highlights the violations of human rights and freedom of expression in the DRC. It is crucial that measures are taken to guarantee the safety of the population and to prosecute those responsible for these violent acts
