Water extension works in the Tokoloté district, Kindu: a step towards access to drinking water for thousands of people

Maniema, a province in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is taking an important step towards improving access to drinking water. The provincial government recently allocated a sum of 62 million 860 thousand 450 Congolese francs for water extension works in the Tokoloté district of Kindu.

Thanks to these funds, the Association of Drinking Water Network Users (ASUREP BIG FIVE) of Maniema will be able to implement this essential project. The Plateau, Brazza-Neema and Kindu Institute blocks will benefit from this water extension, which will supply drinking water to nearly 30,000 inhabitants of the region.

The intervention of ASUREP BIG FIVE is all the more crucial because it will allow the population of Tokoloté to no longer settle for poor quality water. The works, which are expected to last about three months, will guarantee residents safe, high-quality drinking water.

The commitment of the provincial government of Maniema in this project demonstrates a desire to meet the basic needs of the population. Indeed, access to drinking water is essential for the health and well-being of inhabitants, particularly in a context where water quality can have a direct impact on the prevalence of waterborne diseases.

The water extension works in the Tokoloté district are therefore a significant step forward in the fight against water shortage in the region. By investing in essential infrastructure projects such as this one, the provincial government of Maniema demonstrates its commitment to ensuring equitable access to drinking water for all.

However, it is important to ensure that the work is carried out professionally and to ensure rigorous monitoring of its execution. The interim governor of Maniema also insisted on the importance of quality work on the part of ASUREP BIG FIVE, in order to guarantee the success of this crucial project for the local population.

In conclusion, the water extension works in the Tokoloté district of Kindu represent a major step forward in improving access to drinking water in Maniema. This initiative demonstrates the provincial government’s commitment to meeting the basic needs of its population. By providing nearly 30,000 residents with access to quality drinking water, this water extension will help improve the living conditions and health of Tokoloté residents
