“Martin Fayulu prepares a historic march for free and transparent elections in the DRC”

Martin Fayulu and his supporters are preparing to take to the streets of Kinshasa on July 29 to demand “credible, free, transparent, impartial, peaceful and inclusive” elections. This peaceful march organized by the Commitment for Citizenship and Development (ECiDé) party also aims to demand that the electoral register be audited by an independent international body.

Martin Fayulu, presidential candidate of 2018, accuses President Denis Kadima, the plenary assembly of the independent national electoral commission (CENI) and the regime in place of planning a new electoral fraud in the DRC. According to him, a reliable and audited electoral register is an essential condition for transparent and credible elections.

ECiDé and Martin Fayulu believe that the external audit of the electoral register would make it possible to verify the integrity of the data collected and to certify their compliance with the laws and regulations in force. This approach aims to inspire confidence in all stakeholders and guarantee the authenticity of electoral results. Unfortunately, the CENI refuses to submit to this audit, which calls into question the credibility of the electoral process in the DRC.

Faced with this situation, Martin Fayulu declared that his party would not file its candidacy files if the electoral register is not reliable and audited by a reputable independent body. He refuses to participate in any form of electoral fraud and even plans to activate article 64 of the constitution to defeat the political dictatorship.

The march scheduled for July 29 in Kinshasa is therefore a way for Martin Fayulu’s supporters to express their discontent and demand democratic and transparent elections in the DRC. They hope to put pressure on the authorities and draw the attention of the international community to the political situation in the country.

This mobilization bears witness to the importance given by Martin Fayulu and ECiDé to the transparency and integrity of the elections in the DRC. They will continue to fight for the voice of the Congolese people to be heard and respected in the country’s democratic process. The July 29 march will therefore be a key moment in this fight for fair and equitable elections in the DRC
