The prefabricated accommodation will not be able to be operational before the games, but the catering room, the dispensary and the accreditation room are already ready.
At the UNIKIN site, everything is also ready to welcome the athletes in the best conditions. Athletes are already housed in optimal conditions, with running water, a working wifi connection and chefs ready to serve quality meals on time.
During this inspection visit, the government spokesman, Patrick Muyaya, expressed his satisfaction with the progress made at the various sites. He stressed that the organization of these games was a great challenge for the Democratic Republic of Congo, but that every effort had been made to meet international standards and provide modern reception conditions for the athletes.
He also stressed the importance of these games for the DRC, which will be able to have quality sports infrastructure after the event, a real development opportunity for the country.
Despite certain delays in the construction of the sites, in particular linked to requests from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and the French Cycling Federation, the Congolese authorities have done their best to meet all the requirements and guarantee the success of these games.
