As part of his mission as facilitator designated by the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), President Félix Tshisekedi has successfully accomplished his task in the Republic of Chad, according to Congolese presidential sources. After two days of consultations with stakeholders in the transition process, Felix Tshisekedi ended his mission with optimism and hope for the future of the country.
During his meeting with President Mahamat Idriss Deby, the Congolese Head of State discussed the security and humanitarian situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly in the eastern region, where M23 terrorists, supported by the Rwandan Armed Forces (RDF), continue to create unrest. Felix Tshisekedi acknowledged that his country was not free from problems, but underlined his commitment to help Chad find a peaceful and happy solution to its political crisis.
During his stay in Chad, Félix Tshisekedi noted that all the Chadians he met were in favor of the progress made and eager to rebuild, progress, reconcile and unite. This encouraging prospect allowed him to leave with a sense of hope for a peaceful and prosperous future for the people of Chad.
