Initial training of new magistrates promotion 2023 “Rule of law”

The launch of the initial training session for new magistrates promotion 2023 “Rule of Law” was marked by the commitment of the President of the Republic Félix Tshisekedi to breathe new life into Congolese justice. This commitment is part of its desire to reduce the shortage of magistrates in order to strengthen the judicial system across the country.

In his speech at this event, Felix Tshisekedi recalled the importance of justice in building the rule of law. He stressed that justice is a bulwark that protects people, guarantees the rules of coexistence, as well as the rights and duties of everyone. Without good justice, a nation cannot recover and develop.

The President also expressed his disappointment with the justice record of his first term. He deplored the corruption and impunity that undermine the Congolese judicial system. For him, justice must be free from corrupt practices and inspire confidence in citizens.

Felix Tshisekedi recalled that justice elevates a nation, quoting a verse from Proverbs. He stressed that without effective justice, there can be no deterrence and peace in society. Thus, he invited magistrates to become aware of their major role in building the rule of law and to act with integrity and responsibility.

The Head of State also affirmed that his vision for Congolese justice was not fully received by the heads of judicial institutions. Despite his efforts to make his project understood, he found a lack of alignment.

In conclusion, the initial training session for new magistrates promotion 2023 “Rule of Law” marks a turning point in President Félix Tshisekedi’s desire to transform the Congolese judicial system. It is committed to putting an end to corruption and impunity, and to building justice that assures and reassures all citizens. However, the path towards a solid and respected rule of law remains a challenge to be met, which requires the commitment of all Congolese justice actors.
