The Rap and Slam Festival returns for its second edition to Bukavu, South Kivu, from July 28 to 29, 2023. This major event will bring together thousands of rap and slam lovers with the aim of promoting “the art oratory at the heart of change”, the consolidation of peace and living together.
The headliner of this edition is none other than the Franco-Moroccan rapper La Fouine, who will make his first appearance in this eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. With titles such as “All the same”, “When I leave” and “My best”, La Fouine has an impressive repertoire to delight the public of Bukavu.
Among the other artists present, we will find the duo MPR, composed of Yuma Dash and Zozo Machine. Their committed music recounts the daily life of the average Congolese, with striking songs such as “Malembe” and “Lobela ye Français”. Their presence on stage is always a hit with the public.
Another key figure in this event is Yekima de Bel’Art, also known as “Le Poésident”. This talented artist created AFROSLAM, a unique blend of poetry, Afro-Congolese sounds, RnB and rap. His music is a real experience for the brain, body, heart and soul. Among his hit titles are “I present to you Kinshasa” and “Le tour du monde de la Francophonie”.
Other talented artists such as Bolivar Mvulu and Afande Ready will also be present during this important cultural event.
The Festiras 2023 aims to be a gathering of young people around culture, with the aim of spreading messages of civic education, promoting responsible citizenship, fighting against the manipulation of young people and violence, and fostering social cohesion and live it together.
In addition to artistic performances, the festival will also offer activities such as a guided tour of Kahuzi National Park and moments of exchange with students, young artists, activists and journalists.
