In Congolese political news, opponent Martin Fayulu held a press conference on Wednesday July 12 to reassure the Congolese people about their participation in the electoral process. While he previously demanded the audit of the electoral register by an independent firm before submitting the files of the potential candidates of his political family, Martin Fayulu clarified his position by affirming that he would not leave the electoral process.
The Ecide leader said: “The people know the person they love. The people know that they voted for Martin Fayulu in 2018, I’m not going to quit the electoral process, that’s why I say to my people, this people who demand Fayulu, that we should not go to the elections for fun. We must mobilize to demand good elections that will lead to the truth of the ballot boxes.”
Martin Fayulu also pointed out that there was a misinterpretation of his June 19 statement, which did not question his participation in the elections, but simply demanded that the electoral register be audited by an independent firm.
In addition, the deadline for submitting candidacies to national deputies is set for Saturday, July 15. The president of the electoral center, Denis Kadima, warned any late candidates that there will be no extension for them.
This political news arouses the attention and interest of the Congolese people, who impatiently await the conduct of the elections and hope for transparent and legitimate electoral results.
