New appointments in public companies in the DRC

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, recently announced a series of appointments in different companies and state establishments in the country. These appointments were made through presidential orders read by the spokesperson for the Congolese National Radio and Television.

In the mining sector, Jean-Charles Okoto has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bakwanga Mining Company (MIBA), a public company specializing in diamond mining in the Kasai region. André Kabanda Kana will hold the position of General Manager of MIBA, while Kazadi Mabika will be the Deputy General Manager.

Appointments were also made in the waterways and airways sectors. André Pungwe Songwe has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of the Régie des Voies Fluviales (RVF), with Daniel Lwaboshi as managing director and Divine Malumba Kapinga as deputy managing director. Tryphon Kin-Kiey Mulumba has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Régie des Voies Aeriennes (RVA), Alphonse Shungu Maungu will be the General Manager and Dieudonné Kawaya the Deputy General Manager.

In the field of aviation, Jean-Bertrand Ewanga has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Congo Airways, the national aviation company. Josué Lweya will hold the position of general manager of Congo Airways, while Mamitsho Pontshi will be the deputy general manager.

Other appointments were made in public companies such as the Commercial Post and Telecommunications Company (SCPT), the Cultural Promotion Fund (FPC) and the National Railway Company of Congo (SNCC). Adam Bombole has been appointed Chairman of the SCPT Board of Directors, with Sandra Tshibangu as Managing Director and Djolino Makelele as Deputy Managing Director. Barbara Mutundu Kanam has been appointed Director General of FPC, with Didier Masela as Deputy Director General. Honoré Mulumba was reappointed as managing director of the National Forestry Fund (FFN) and Fabien Mutomb remains at the head of the SNCC.

These appointments underscore President Tshisekedi’s commitment to strengthening the governance and efficiency of public enterprises in the DRC.
