“Solidarity of religious leaders with Pastor Godé Mpoyi: for fair justice and the preservation of the role of churches in governance”

Members of the High Council of Revival Churches, including Pastor Albert Kankienza, Pascal Mukuna, Ejiba ya Mampia, Espé MBakadi and Kiziamina, recently expressed their solidarity with Pastor Godé Mpoyi, deposed from the presidency of the Provincial Assembly from Kinshasa. They call on the Head of State Félix Tshisekedi to get personally involved in this affair and ask the Constitutional Court to rehabilitate Godé Mpoyi in his position.

Pastor Kankienza said that men of God deserve respect and consideration, pointing out that some political candidates visit churches during the election period to address the faithful. However, he expressed his outrage at the humiliation suffered by one of their own during his dismissal.

It should be recalled that Godé Mpoyi was removed from his post for accusations of mismanagement and abuse of power.

However, this case raises questions about the place of churchmen in the political sphere and their role as leaders. The dismissal of Godé Mpoyi could be interpreted as a desire to question the power of revivalist churches and their influence in governance.

It is important to keep in mind that churchmen have always played a significant role in Congolese society, particularly in terms of moral support, spiritual guidance and community development. Their churches have often been places of refuge for people in difficulty.

It is also crucial to take into account the political aspects and the need to promote transparent and accountable governance. If the accusations of mismanagement and abuse of power are true, it is essential to ensure that accountability is met and that justice is done.

In conclusion, the dismissal of Godé Mpoyi from the presidency of the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly arouses reactions of solidarity from the members of the High Council of Revival Churches. However, it is important to balance issues of respect for institutions, transparency and accountability in governance
