New appointments in public companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo

The Democratic Republic of the Congo continues to make changes and appointments in its public companies. The Head of State, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, recently announced a series of appointments of officers in several state institutions in the country.

Among the important changes, we note the appointment of Jean-Charles Okoto as chairman of the board of directors of the mining company of Bakwanga (MIBA). This company, active in diamond mining in the Kasai region, is now run by an experienced leader. André Kabanda Kana has been appointed Director General of MIBA, while Kazadi Mabika holds the position of Deputy Director General.

The Waterway Authority (RVF) has also experienced leadership changes. André Pungwe Songwe is now the chairman of the board of directors of this institution. Daniel Lwaboshi and Divine Malumba Kapinga have been appointed RVF General Manager and Deputy General Manager respectively. A new team whose mission will be to effectively manage the country’s waterways.

The Airway Authority (RVA) has also seen changes with the appointment of Tryphon Kin-Kiey Mulumba as Chairman of the Board. Alphonse Shungu Maungu now holds the position of general manager of the RVA, and Dieudonné Kawaya has been appointed deputy general manager. These appointments reflect the Congolese government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s transport infrastructure.

Aviation company Congo Airways also has new leadership. Jean-Bertrand Ewanga, Josué Lweya and Mamitsho Pontshi have respectively been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Manager and Deputy General Manager of this company. This appointment aims to improve the management of the national airline and strengthen its position in the market.

Other public companies have also experienced changes in their representatives, such as the Société Commerciale des Postes et Télécommunications (SCPT) with the appointment of Adam Bombole as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Sandra Tshibangu has been appointed General Manager of SCPT, while Djolino Makelele has been appointed Deputy General Manager.

These recent appointments bear witness to the efforts of the Congolese government to strengthen the management of public enterprises and promote their development. These leadership changes are also an opportunity to stimulate the country’s economy and improve the quality of services offered to Congolese citizens.
