Improve the drafting of the article on the identification of motorcyclists in Bandundu to strengthen the security of the city
Bandundu, a city located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, faces growing problems of insecurity caused by criminals who use motorbikes to commit wrongdoing. To remedy this situation, the police have launched an operation to identify and register all motorcyclists who are members of the Association of Drivers and Motorcyclists of Kwilu, (ACMK) who work as taxi drivers.
As part of this initiative, each motorcyclist receives a membership card as well as a vest bearing a unique number to facilitate their identification. More than 500 chasubles were provided by the Union of Nationals of Bandundu (UREBAND) to be distributed to motorcyclists.
This measure aims to protect the population by allowing residents to identify the motorcyclists who are transporting them. In the event of a problem, it will thus be possible to trace the motorcyclist thanks to the number of his chasuble. This is an important strategy to enhance city safety and combat criminal acts committed by some motorcyclists.
During the launching ceremony of this operation, which took place at the esplanade of the provincial police station, the president of UREBAND, Éric Kinzambi, underlined the importance of this initiative to guarantee the security of the population. He also called on motorcyclists to cooperate fully for the good of the city, pointing out that this measure aims to differentiate motorcyclists who use this means of transport to meet their legitimate needs from those who engage in activities illicit.
The provincial police commissioner of Kwilu, General Kanold Kamana, stressed that this identification operation will allow motorcyclists in Bandundu to organize themselves and facilitate the work of the police to ensure the safety of the population and their property. He also announced that this biker identification operation will end on July 20.
This initiative is an important step in the fight against insecurity in the city of Bandundu. By identifying and registering motorcyclists, authorities aim to deter crime while allowing residents to feel safe when using the services of motorbike taxi drivers. This measure should contribute to improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Bandundu and to strengthening confidence between the population and the authorities
