The Territorial Youth Council of Sakania, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has just unveiled its strategic development plan for the 2023-2024 financial year. This plan, drawn up during an annual budget meeting, aims to define the priority orientations for the development of the territory.
This strategic plan, divided into five main commissions, reflects the aspirations and needs of young people in Sakania. These commissions address various themes such as legal, administrative and political affairs, employment, agriculture and the environment, sports and leisure, communication and the media, as well as social affairs and gender.
Agriculture, fishing and animal husbandry are key areas to which the council attaches great importance. By involving the young people of Sakania, he hopes to fight against food addiction and promote sustainable agriculture. At the same time, sports activities such as football, basketball and volleyball will be organized to promote social cohesion and the well-being of young people.
The defense of human rights and raising awareness against political manipulation are also priorities for the Territorial Youth Council of Sakania. It thus wishes to encourage the civic and political engagement of young people while promoting a culture of peace and respect for fundamental rights.
Other actions are envisaged in this strategic plan, such as the refurbishment of the CTJ Sakania office, the fight against abuse of young girls, the organization of laughter and theatrical sessions to promote local culture, as well as the creation a website to communicate and share the activities of young people in the area.
The President of the Territorial Youth Council, Gaston Mumba Mutoya, stressed the importance of the support of privileged partners and the government for the realization of this strategic plan. He also called on young people to actively engage in the development of Sakania.
