“The Congolese President warns Rwanda: the military front, the last option after diplomacy”

The military front against the aggression of Rwanda and its M23 auxiliaries will be the last option, after diplomacy, said Saturday the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, during a program on national television.

In this televised intervention, President Tshisekedi reaffirmed his faith in diplomacy and stressed the importance of preserving diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also expressed his confidence in the progress of the steps taken so far to pacify eastern DRC.

The president also mentioned the growing strength of the Congolese defense and security forces, stressing that this would discourage any belligerent attempt on Congolese territory.

However, he warned that if Rwanda and the M23 do not comply with diplomatic demands, the military front will be considered as a last option. It is clear that President Tshisekedi is seeking to resolve the situation through diplomatic means, but he insists that his country is ready to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty if this becomes unavoidable.

The situation in the DRC and relations with Rwanda are complex and sensitive. Armed groups, in particular the M23, have been a source of conflict and instability in the region for many years. Diplomacy therefore remains essential to find a lasting and peaceful solution to this situation.

It is encouraging to see President Tshisekedi commit to using all available means to preserve peace and security in the region, while maintaining strong diplomatic relations.

This speech by President Tshisekedi highlights his strategic vision to deal with the crisis and underlines the importance of diplomacy in the resolution of international conflicts. His determination to preserve peace and protect the interests of his country is commendable.

It is essential to continue to closely monitor the evolution of the situation in the DRC and the actions taken by the Congolese government to resolve this crisis. Diplomacy remains the best way to reach a peaceful resolution, but it is reassuring to know that military measures are ready to be taken as a last resort to protect the Congolese nation
