However, despite the efforts made by Kinshasa, some French-speaking countries have expressed their concerns about safety and health during this edition of the Games of La Francophonie. Quebec announced its withdrawal, while New Brunswick reduced its delegation. In addition, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation of Belgium has opted for non-participation in sports competitions.
