A new terminal will soon see the light of day in the province of Kasaï-Central in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The foundation stone laying ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Peter Kazadi, in Kananga, the provincial capital.
This project, lasting almost two years and costing 32,594,423 million US dollars, aims to meet population growth and international standards in terms of safety and comfort for passengers. The works will cover an area of 7,600 square meters and will be carried out by the company Modern Construction.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of this infrastructure for the development of Kasaï-Central and the country as a whole. He called on the population to mobilize around this project launched by President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi.
It should be noted that the construction of this terminal in Kananga is the third stage of a plan for the development and modernization of airport infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of Congo, after Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba and Mbuji-Mayi in the province of Kasaï. -Oriental.
This project is part of the central government’s policy aimed at strengthening the country’s infrastructure and promoting its economic development. Improving airport infrastructure is essential to encourage trade, facilitate the movement of people and promote tourism in the region.
