“Faith Word In action: Assessment and strategy for the empowerment of young women and girls in the DRC”

“Faith Word In action, a civic organization specializing in the development and empowerment of young women and girls, recently organized a workshop in Kinshasa. The objective of this workshop was to take stock of the activities of Faith Word In action and to define a strategy for the coming year.

During this event, Anifa Kalombola, Executive Secretary of Faith Word In action, stressed the importance of this annual review. It was a question of reviewing the achievements and failures of the past year, evaluating the results obtained and planning the actions to come for the year 2023.

Faith Word In action, which works in partnership with organizations such as Oxfam, FEMNET and the European Union, insisted that this workshop was not limited to activities related to the STITCH project. Each partner was free to share its activities and achievements, in order to promote collaboration and mutual aid between the different actors.

For nearly four years, Faith Word In action has been operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a mission to promote the leadership of young women and girls in their communities. As a member of FEMNET, Faith Word In action participates in the STITCH project, which aims to empower women in seven African countries.

This workshop helped to highlight the progress made by Faith Word In action, but also to address the challenges and new opportunities for the coming year. By promoting exchanges and highlighting the particularities of each partner, this event strengthened the links between the actors of the STITCH project.

Faith Word In action thus pursues its mission of development and empowerment of young women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Through strong partnerships and concrete actions, this structure is committed to promoting female leadership and creating opportunities for the future of Congolese communities
