“Félix Tshisekedi calls for the rationalization of government actions for the second half of 2023 in the Democratic Republic of Congo”

Félix Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, recently chaired the 103rd meeting of the Council of Ministers. During this meeting, he stressed the importance of streamlining government actions for the second half of 2023.

In a report read by government spokesman Patrick Muyaya, President Tshisekedi reminded members of the government of the instruction he had given them at the 92nd meeting of the Council of Ministers. He asked them to produce a realistic, clear and detailed roadmap, accompanied by a precise and realistic timetable of the actions to be prioritized. The objective is to allow a better legibility of the governmental action and to guarantee a real impact on the life of the population.

President Tshisekedi also asked Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde to present a consolidated government roadmap that takes into account the cash flow plan for the relevant period. It is essential to put in place coherent and financially viable measures to ensure the smooth running of government actions.

This desire to rationalize government actions comes as the Democratic Republic of Congo prepares to organize its 4th electoral cycle in December 2023. This deadline is crucial for the country, which seeks to consolidate its democracy and guarantee free and transparent elections.

The current government, led by Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, is the fruit of a new coalition set up by President Tshisekedi. This coalition was formed after the rupture of the alliance between the FCC and the CACH, which linked President Tshisekedi to his predecessor, Joseph Kabila.

Since taking office, President Tshisekedi has pledged to implement reforms and concrete actions to improve the lives of Congolese. This new call for the rationalization of government actions shows its determination to move the country forward and meet the needs of the population.

In this pre-election period, it is essential that all stakeholders play their part in ensuring transparent and peaceful elections. President Tshisekedi will continue to mobilize political actors and civil society to guarantee a fair and democratic electoral process.

The second half of 2023 will therefore be crucial for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Congolese people expect concrete actions from their government, measures that will have a real impact on their daily lives. President Tshisekedi is determined to meet these expectations and lead the country towards a better future
