Faith Word In action, a civic organization specializing in the development and empowerment of young women and girls, recently organized a workshop in Kinshasa. The objective of this workshop was to review the activities carried out as part of the annual review of FWA and to take stock of the progress made.
Funded by organizations such as Oxfam, FEMNET and the European Union, Faith Word In Action has taken an active role in promoting women’s leadership in their communities. The two-day workshop allowed members of the organization to discuss the programmatic and financial execution of activities, highlighting the key results achieved.
Anifa Kalombola, Executive Secretary of Faith Word In action, underlined the importance of this annual review to assess the achievements and the challenges encountered. She also mentioned the importance of planning for the year 2023 in order to reinvigorate the activities of the organization.
The workshop allowed Faith Word In action partners to share their experiences and discuss their individual projects, apart from the STITCH project funded by Oxfam and FEMNET. This collaboration between the various partners aims to strengthen everyone’s knowledge and skills and to promote positive progress.
Faith Word In action has been present in the Democratic Republic of Congo for almost four years and works in collaboration with other local organizations such as CONAFED. Together, they contribute to the realization of the STITCH project in seven African countries.
This annual review and workshop demonstrates Faith Word In Action’s commitment to continually evaluating and improving its activities. By focusing on the development and empowerment of young women and girls, the organization pursues its mission to promote gender equality and female leadership in Congolese communities.
