Faith Word In Action (FWA), a civic organization funded by Oxfam, FEMNET and the European Union, is committed to development and empowerment efforts for young women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo. From July 4 to 5, FWA organized a workshop in Kinshasa, focusing on its annual review. The objective was to assess the programmatic and financial execution of activities, highlighting the progress made towards the key results expected for each member of the organization.

This two-day workshop enabled the FWA team to take stock of the achievements and constraints encountered, to assess the relevance of the results defined, to examine the major developments and new challenges, and to plan the actions to be taken. undertake for the year 2023.

Anifa Kalombola, Executive Secretary of Faith Word In action, stressed the importance of these foundations in the development process of the organization. She explained that this exercise made it possible to take into account the positive and negative aspects of the different activities, and to draw lessons to improve future actions.

The organization Faith Word In action is not limited to activities related to the STITCH project, which is supported by Oxfam and FEMNET. Each partner has the freedom to carry out their own projects, outside of this specific collaboration. The workshop was thus an opportunity for each participant to share the achievements of the year 2022, both within the framework of the STITCH project and in other initiatives carried out in collaboration with Oxfam and FEMNET.

It should be recalled that Faith Word In action, also known as Word of Faith in Action, has been working in the Democratic Republic of Congo for almost four years. She is one of the 14 Congolese members of FEMNET and actively collaborates in the implementation of the STITCH project in 7 African countries, with a view to promoting the leadership of young women and girls in their communities.

Faith Word In Action’s annual review demonstrates the organization’s ongoing commitment to the development and empowerment of young women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By evaluating the results and identifying the challenges to be met, FWA is empowering itself to reinvigorate its work plan for the year 2023, in order to maximize its impact and foster positive change in Congolese communities
