The Fatshi Cup u20 tournament has come to an end with expected results and impressive performances. Unsurprisingly, the Gabon team won the cup by outclassing the Central African Republic with a score of 2-0. In the river derby, the DRC managed to secure second place beating their neighbor with a final score of 2-1.
The first encounter was a real spectacle for the spectators, with Jalex Mebale and Omar scoring the two goals that helped the Panthers of Gabon win the title in convincing fashion. Their solid performance confirmed their status as the tournament’s best team.
Game 2 was also action-packed. DRC’s Guy Bukasa players were the first to open the scoring through Nkombe in the 30th minute. However, fifteen minutes later defender Iyou managed to equalize for the Central African Republic. The 1-1 score persisted until half-time, but in the second half, Mardochée Kalengalenga scored the decisive goal in the 85th minute, giving the DRC second place in the tournament.
After a week of intense competition, Gabon were crowned champions of the Fatshi Cup u20, while the DRC took second place. However, it should be noted that Gabonese player Curtis Junior finished as the competition’s top scorer, showcasing his talent and influence on the pitch.
