Economic Week at the University of Goma: One step closer to the emergence of a prosperous Congolese middle class through entrepreneurship
The city of Goma, capital of North Kivu, recently hosted the Economic Week organized by the University of Goma. This major event brought together students and young entrepreneurs from the region, eager to learn more about the promotion of entrepreneurship in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Among the renowned speakers, the Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP), the Honorable Miguel Kashal Katemb, spoke at a conference-debate on the promotion of entrepreneurship. In his speech, he underlined the importance of the ARSP in the national economy and called on every Congolese to support the vision of the Head of State in terms of entrepreneurship.
DG Miguel Kashal also emphasized the emergence of a real Congolese middle class. He recalled that the promotion of entrepreneurship was a priority of the government and that the success of entrepreneurs was closely linked to the vision of the president.
The conference was followed by a time of discussion with the students and entrepreneurs present. The directors general of FOGEC (School and University Credit Guarantee Fund) and ANADEC (National Agency for Digital Development) also took the floor to explain the roles of their respective structures in government policy aimed at promoting the entrepreneurship and to allow the emergence of a prosperous middle class in the DRC.
The students welcomed the vision of the Head of State as presented by the delegation of public establishments during this Economic Week. They expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to help build a vibrant and prosperous middle class through entrepreneurship.
In the continuity of this event, the DG of the ARSP, Miguel Kashal Katemb, announced the official opening of the provincial direction of the ARSP North Kivu. This initiative aims to realize the vision of the Head of State in the subcontracting sector and to support local entrepreneurs on their journey to success.
In conclusion, the Economic Week organized by the University of Goma highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in building a prosperous Congolese middle class.
