The 2023 edition of DRC Mining Week in the Democratic Republic of Congo was an opportunity to celebrate the triumphs and victories of the country’s mining sector. On this occasion, Tenke Fungurume Mining (TFM) received a recognition award for its outstanding performance in several areas. The gala evening was an opportunity for participants to discuss the challenges facing the sector, while celebrating the successes.
The External Relations Manager of TFM expressed her gratitude to the VUKA organization for the recognition award received on behalf of all employees of the company. She also recalled the difficulties of the mining sector which does not only have moments of glory, making the recognition award an honor for the entire TFM team.
TFM has distinguished itself in particular by its compliance with the strictest international standards in terms of environmental management, health and safety at work. The company has also signed a five-year agreement with the local community to meet their most urgent needs. Finally, TFM and its parent company, the CMOC group, regularly obtain excellent marks in international audits in terms of ESG criteria.
This edition of DRC Mining Week was marked by strong participation, in which TFM took a serious part. The Managing Director and Vice President of CMOC also attended the mining fair, highlighting the importance of this event for the country’s mining sector.
