The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is participating in the summit for a new global financial pact, which began on June 22, 2023 in Paris. This event, organized by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) in collaboration with the City of Paris, aims to strengthen access to long-term financing for sustainable development in cities and around the world.
Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, accompanied by Ministers of State, brings a message from the Congolese President to this world summit. As a solution country in the fight against global warming, the DRC wants the promises made to materialize and hopes that this summit will make it possible to find lasting solutions to fight against the multiple climatic, energy, health and economic crises.
This summit aims in particular to mobilize innovative financing for countries vulnerable to climate change, promote the development of the private sector in low-income countries, encourage investment in “green” infrastructure for the energy transition in emerging and development, and restore fiscal space to countries facing difficult short-term situations, including the most indebted countries.
More than 100 Heads of State and Government are expected at this summit, which takes place from June 22 to 23
