The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, is on a state visit to China. This four-day official visit aims to strengthen relations between the two countries and to sign bilateral agreements, particularly of an economic nature.
The Congolese President took this opportunity to send a message to the Congolese diaspora living in China, denouncing the existing “collaboration” between the elements of the contingents of the Regional Force of the East African Community (EAC) and those of the M23, which continue to sow desolation in the eastern part of the country. According to him, “there is a kind of collaboration between the EAC Force and the rebels or terrorists of the M23, with the exception of the Burundian contingent which applies in the true sense of the word, the agreements as they were planned. As proof of this, the intervention of the Burundians when the M23 terrorists began to illegally levy taxes in the territories they occupied. As for the others, the cohabitation continues”.
President Tshisekedi also denounced the aggression of Rwanda, which has extremely harmful consequences on the populations living in the eastern part of the Congo. According to him, Kinshasa has put in place a strategic action plan to preserve its reason and remain in control of the situation.
Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi also wants to revitalize economic relations between China and the Democratic Republic of Congo by signing bilateral agreements for the benefit of both countries. This state visit to China is an opportunity for the Congolese president to revive the country’s economy and improve the living conditions of its population.
