Vaccination is an effective way to prevent the spread of disease. In the territory of Walungu, in South Kivu, the head doctor of the Nyangezi zone, Dr Olivier Kabarati Amani, launched a vaccination campaign against measles at the Munya health centre. This initiative is important for the health of children in the region and for the prevention of disease. Parents are encouraged to educate their community to ensure the success of this vaccination campaign.
Dr. Olivier Kabarati Amani emphasized the importance of vaccination stating that without vaccination, death cases from measles would be on the rise. He hopes this campaign will be a success. Pascal Cishugi Lungere Nyangezi, leader of the Karhongo Nyangezi group, also urged the population to vaccinate their children because it is a sign of love towards them.
The Nyangezi health zone has 12 health areas divided into four groups including Karhongo, Kamanyola, Kamisimbi and Lurhala. Community relays also have an important role to play in raising community awareness about vaccination.
It is essential that each individual take care of their health by performing regular vaccinations to prevent the spread of diseases. This measles vaccination campaign could be beneficial for the reduction of infectious diseases in the region
