Civil society in the territory of Djoru (Tshuapa), in the Democratic Republic of Congo, protests against the incompatibility between the number of voters registered by the branch of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) in Djoru, and that of electoral file officially published by the central office in Kinshasa. Spokesperson for the Djoru community in Kinshasa, Christophe Esambola, expressed concern about a discrepancy of more than 35,000 registrants, indicating that the figures transmitted to the CENI had apparently not been taken into account, with consequence that the territory risks losing a seat in the national deputies. The declaration comes a few hours before the tabling of the bill on the distribution of seats in the National Assembly by the government. To avoid this situation, Christophe Esambola calls on the government to correct this material error by taking into account the data provided by the CENI antenna in Djoru so that the additional seat is returned before the transmission of the bill to Parliament
