The Democratic Republic of Congo is preparing for industrialization with the launch of the Industrialization Master Plan (PDI) by the Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya. This program aims to diversify the Congolese economy to create jobs and stimulate growth. The first stage of social dialogue on the appropriation of the PDI took place in the commune of Kinsenso, in front of the intellectual cream and local leaders of different religious denominations.
The Minister detailed the major instruments that constitute the compass of this project, namely the Document of Industrial Policy and Strategies and the PDI. The development of Special Economic Zones is also one of the measures taken by the government to achieve these objectives. The pilot city of Maluku should thus increase in power with this new policy.
The return of Mayor Godet ATSWEL-OKEL MUNTUNGI, demanded by the population, was also mentioned during this social dialogue. The minister undertook to forward the requests to the government.
Similar discussions will take place in other communes of the capital Kinshasa to raise awareness of this industrialization project. The DRC hopes to strengthen its economy by focusing on industry to create jobs and wealth
