“DRC launches a call for tenders for the design and construction of a public building in Kinshasa”

The Democratic Republic of Congo has launched a call for applications to find a consultant specializing in the design, studies and construction of public buildings. This consultant will be in charge of carrying out the architectural and technical studies for the construction of a building belonging to the Technical Committee for Monitoring and Evaluation of Reforms (CTR), a technical structure of the Ministry of Finance. The purpose of this mission is to determine the work necessary for the construction of the building and will also make it possible to evaluate the implementation of public policies.

The selected candidate must be a multidisciplinary firm specializing in architecture and/or engineering with a general experience of 10 years in the field of public works and proven experience of at least three similar assignments carried out over the past 10 years, with proof of previous performances. The firm must also comply with Congolese legislation regarding affiliation to the INSS and approval for ITPs.

The mission will take place in Kinshasa, in the commune of Gombe, for a period of 50 calendar days. Interested candidates can obtain additional information at the mentioned address and must submit their expression of interest by post or e-mail. The CTR will draw up a shortlist of approximately six candidates shortlisted for the performance of the required services, recruited by the selection method based on “technical quality and cost”.

This project reflects the desire of the Democratic Republic of Congo to strengthen public infrastructure and promote the construction and public works sector in the country. However, the country’s internal security remains one of the main challenges, with persistent conflicts in certain regions, political tensions still present and major economic challenges to be overcome.
