During a recent working trip to the province of Haut-Katanga, a delegation led by the Special Adviser to the Head of State on infrastructure David Mukeba and the Deputy Director General of the Office des Routes, the Professor Célestin Ekoto Loleke, carried out an inspection visit of the road works carried out by the Congolese Agency for Great Works (ACGT) and the Chinese firm CCECC on the national road number 1 Kasumbalesa-Sakania section in the city of Lubumbashi.
Unfortunately, the overall finding is far from satisfactory. If the work is almost complete, officials have noted a lot of damage that calls for an in-depth study. For Professor Célestin Ekoto Loleke, inspection is an imperative necessity, in order to deliver quality road infrastructure to the populations.
In this context, a team of experts from the Roads Office laboratory must be dispatched to the site to assess the situation and propose appropriate solutions to correct the defects noted by the delegation.
In addition, Professor Célestin Ekoto Loleke took part in the financing meeting for the implementation of projects within the framework of the transport infrastructure development program for the strengthening of trade between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the United Republic of Tanzania which was also held in the province of Haut-Katanga.
It is important to note that the officials of the Office des Routes are working tirelessly to provide quality road infrastructure, in accordance with the vision of the President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. Despite the difficulties encountered, the State is more determined than ever to take up the challenge of transport infrastructure in order to improve the living conditions of citizens and boost trade with neighboring countries.
