Work within the Musienene Special Economic Zone is attracting the attention of the Congolese government. A quadripartite mission, made up of the Ministry of Industry, ANAPI, the Industry Promotion Fund and the Special Economic Zones Agency, went there on May 17, 2023 to inspect the progress of the works. The delegation expressed satisfaction with the progress made in this economic zone.
According to the cabinet director of the Ministry of Industry, Jean Dieudonné Kavese, the progress noted is encouraging. The mission, which also visited the Mikaela maize flour production factory in Musienene and the SOPROCOPIV coffee factory in Kyambogho, aims to facilitate support for stakeholders within the economic zone.
These trips are important to enable effective monitoring of the establishment of the Musienene Special Economic Zone. The Congolese government thus recalls its commitment to promote the industrial development of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Successfully setting up such zones is a key factor in attracting foreign investment while creating jobs in the territory. These trips also improve transparency, an important factor in reassuring investors.
The DRC, which has experienced strong growth in recent years, continues its efforts to diversify its economy and improve its business environment. Several social and economic projects have been initiated by the government over the past ten years to promote the economic development of the country.
