“Matata Ponyo, Moses Katumbi, Martin Fayulu and Delly Sesanga unite their forces for the love of the DRC”

DRC: Matata Ponyo, Moïse Katumbi, Martin Fayulu and Delly Sesanga form an alliance for the love of the fatherland

Augustin Matata Ponyo Mapon, National President of the Leadership Governance and Development political party, revealed at a press conference on Monday, May 15, 2023, the reasons for his rapprochement with Moïse Katumbi, Martin Fayulu and Delly Sesanga, all tenors of the Congolese opposition with whom he recently stayed in Goma, capital of the province of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The former Congolese Prime Minister said that it is his love for the DRC and his patriotic sense that led him to get closer to these senior opposition figures. He also mentioned the multiple attempts to make him flee from the country, saying that he had already been brought more than fifty soldiers to his house in order to force him to enter into the sacred union.

He said: “I could flee, because I was abroad, but I stayed for the love of my country. This is what binds us besides to these three aforementioned”, during his press conference held in Goma.

The meeting between these tenors of the Congolese opposition, who have decided to join forces, comes the day after the cancellation of the opposition march on Saturday May 14, 2023 in Kinshasa, the Congolese capital.

It remains to be seen whether this unprecedented alliance will be able to give hope to the Congolese, who feel neglected by the rulers, and whether this will change the situation for the next elections planned for 2023.
