“Matata Ponyo Sounds the Alarm: DRC Under the Grip of Repeated Rwandan Attacks”

The DRC is again in the spotlight with the media release of the Senator and National President of the political party LGD. Matata Ponyo claimed, during a press conference in Goma, that the DRC is suffering repetitive attacks from Rwanda because of the lack of leadership and governance in the country.

According to him, only quality concerted action can put an end to the cycles of deadly violence that have been raging in eastern DRC for several years. However, his presence in the region was banned for a year and a half because of his refusal to join the Sacred Union of the Nation of Félix Tshisekedi.

Matata Ponyo calls on all Congolese citizens to join a political party capable of bringing a new deal in the management, leadership and governance of the country. He made this appeal in particular during a visit to the Goma region, which has been affected by attacks by M23-RDF terrorists for a long time, which proves the urgency of effective political action.

The political situation in the DRC remains volatile. On the one hand, people expect leaders to keep their election promises, while on the other, they fight for better education and elusive security. Taken as a whole, it remains to be hoped that calls for an overall improvement in governance can contribute to an end to cycles of violence and the emergence of a more stable and secure DRC.
