Title: Kinshasa plagued by a water shortage, cut scheduled for May 13, 2023
Kinshasa will face a water shortage on Saturday May 13, 2023. In a press release from Regideso, the water cut stems from a leak that occurred on the DN 700 pipe in the Ngaliema water treatment plant.
The municipalities and neighborhoods affected by this water cut are: Gombe, Lingwala, Kasa-Vubu, Bandalungwa, Ngiri-Ngiri, Kintambo, Mont-Fleury, Jamaica, Macampagne and Joli-Parc.
The lack of water will be observed throughout the day of May 13. Thus, Regideso asks all residents affected by this situation to make their arrangements accordingly.
Remember that poor water management in the DRC is a recurring problem that persists despite the massive and repeated investments made in recent years. This new situation places the capital once again in an emergency situation and underlines the importance of redoubled efforts to improve access to drinking water.
