The world of Congolese showbiz is in mourning following the death of Samy Mikobi, nicknamed “the Strategist”, Thursday, May 11, leaving in turmoil all those who knew him. Samy Mikobi was a well-known personality in the community, especially in the commune of Bandalungwa where he grew up. A journalist who knows him very well, Jean-Pierre Eale Ikabe had immortalized him in one of his columns signed on September 1, 2019.
Samy Mikobi, his real name, had a natural interpersonal skills that allowed him to evolve both in influential circles and in more modest sections of society. He was notable for his ability to make useful connections, which helped cement his reputation in the world of Congolese showbiz. Samy Mikobi had frequented various personalities and had developed a rich relational network which had enabled him to make himself useful and to help others.
He also had the distinction of being faithful in friendship and had in particular rubbed shoulders with Papa Wemba, with whom he shared many friends. Samy Mikobi had also left his mark in various companies, such as ACEC, where Papa Ngonda was a representative in the former Zaire.
