The Minister of Budget stressed that the remuneration of public administration officials is a crucial tool for evaluating the performance of governance and public finance policies. The Congolese government has mandated the firm ASSYST and the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) to carry out investigations aimed at combating fraud and rationalizing the payroll. The government is striving to speed up the constitution of the public administration reference file by completing the biometric identification of its employees and continuing the process of retirement under way. The rationalization of the workforce and the remuneration of public administration employees in the DRC are key measures that will help improve public finances and fight against the abuses inherited from the past.
