
A devastating fire destroyed the CENI warehouse in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, causing extensive material damage. Despite the efforts to save the electoral material, only part of the voting machines could be preserved. This loss jeopardizes the upcoming electoral process and highlights shortcomings in the security of public facilities. This incident highlights the importance of strengthening security measures to ensure transparent and credible elections.
