The launch of the new collection of caricatures “Fin de course” by Congolese artist KASH recently took place at the National Museum of the DRC. This collection, his fourth album as a press cartoonist, offers a critical and humorous look at current Congolese politics. From the death of Étienne Tshisekedi to insecurity in the East, KASH bluntly criticizes political actors in its incisive satire. The collection is structured in seven chapters, covering the period from 2012 to 2018, and uses caricature as a political weapon to denounce abuses and weaknesses. KASH, originally from Butembo, is a multidisciplinary artist known for his freedom of creation and expression. He has received several awards and his works have been exhibited in many countries. “Fin de race” represents the voice of a committed artist who denounces the ills of society and expresses the concerns of the Congolese population.
