Inauguration of the Cultural and Artistic Center for Central African Countries (CCAPAC) in Kinshasa marked a historic turning point for the region. December 14, 2024 will be remembered as the day when culture and art took a prominent place in the development of Central Africa.
The inauguration ceremony, held under the auspices of the Head of State, was an opportunity to bring together political figures, intellectuals, artists and culture enthusiasts. Yolande Elebe Ma Ndembo, Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage, delivered an eloquent speech highlighting the importance of culture in the economic diversification of Congo. She stressed the need to include Afro-descendants in constitutional debates for a more equitable and inclusive society.
The governance of CCAPAC is based on rigorous standards aimed at ensuring transparent and efficient management of the Center. The steering committee, made up of key members and representatives of the ministries concerned, will ensure the coordination of activities and the sustainability of the project. This structure, far from concentrating powers, aims to ensure collective and harmonious management.
Despite the challenges to be met, the CCAPAC embodies an ambitious vision for the DRC and Central Africa. More than just an infrastructure, it is a catalyst for social and economic transformation, offering creative industries opportunities for growth and international influence.
Under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and with the support of all stakeholders involved, the CCAPAC promises to be a spearhead of African culture, a place of exchange and sharing for the countries of the region and beyond. The inauguration of the Center marks the beginning of a new era for culture in Central Africa, an era of creativity, innovation and development.
