In the tumult of current events, the province of Kwango was the scene of bloody clashes between the army and the Mobondo militiamen. Three militiamen lost their lives during these clashes that took place between the villages of Pont Kwango and Kabuba. The army has managed to push back the militias from the Kwango region, inflicting a significant setback on this armed group. Valuable progress has been made, with the recovery of gri-gri belonging to the Mobondo militias, witnesses to the occult practices that fuel their violent ideology.
Captain Anthony Mualushayi, spokesperson for the eleventh military region, highlighted the exemplary conduct of the operations carried out to neutralize this threat. Thanks to remarkable professionalism, the army has managed to dismantle part of the militia network, thus strengthening the security of local populations.
However, despite these military successes, vigilance remains essential. Operations are continuing to track down residual elements and put a definitive end to the harmful influence of this militia in the region. Traffic on the RN 1 has been restored, offering relief to users and strengthening the control of law enforcement on this strategic route.
The population of Kwango, already scarred by years of conflict and insecurity, aspires to lasting peace and an end to the threat of armed militias. Local and national authorities must combine their efforts to guarantee the security of citizens and restore a climate of trust conducive to the economic and social development of the region.
