Indeed, the electricity shortage in some municipalities of the Congolese capital has had a major impact on the daily lives of residents, particularly as the end-of-year festivities approach. However, the responsiveness of the Management of the National Electricity Company (SNEL) has made it possible to implement emergency measures to guarantee the supply of electricity in the affected areas.

The Administrator and General Manager of SNEL, Fabrice Lusinde, assured the population that concrete actions have been taken to restore electricity in the affected municipalities. Reacting quickly to the situation, SNEL mobilized its teams to restore power in the disaster areas and thus allow residents to celebrate the end-of-year festivities in optimal conditions.

Denis Tukuzu, SNEL Distribution Director in Kinshasa, stressed the importance of this emergency intervention in order to limit the inconvenience caused by the incident. The communes of Barumbu, Kinshasa, Kasa-Vubu, as well as part of Limete Industrielle et Résidentielle were identified as the areas most affected by the power outage. SNEL has therefore put in place a specific action plan to restore the electricity supply in these areas, thus reducing the planned interruption time to 15 to 16 hours instead of 24 hours.

Coordination between SNEL teams, under the supervision of Fabrice Lusinde, made it possible to minimize the disruptions caused by the incident and ensure continuity of electricity service for the residents of Kinshasa.
