**Environmental Safeguarding Workshop: A Crucial Step for the “Encore” Project in Kasai-Central**
The importance of preserving the environment and ensuring sustainable development is at the heart of the concerns of the province of Kasai-Central. It is with this in mind that a workshop on environmental safeguarding was recently held as part of the “Encore” project. This event, marked by the official inauguration by the provincial Minister in charge of the Budget, brought together various stakeholders involved in the implementation of this major project.
The “Encore” project aims to promote environmental protection, while supporting the provincial government’s efforts to increase its revenues and meet the needs of the population. Funded by the World Bank, this project is of capital importance for the region, from an economic, social and environmental point of view.
The public consultations organized during this workshop made it possible to inform and raise awareness among participants on the various complaints to be taken into account in the context of this project. Representatives of territorial entities, the provincial financial authority, and tax assessment services were invited to actively contribute to the success of this initiative.
José Mania, the project coordinator, stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the implementation of “Encore”. He recalled that consultations allow for the collection of stakeholders’ opinions and concerns, thus promoting a participatory and inclusive approach.
Minister Pierrot Mutela welcomed this new initiative and encouraged participants to fully invest in this process. He stressed the need to promote women’s rights and combat gender-based violations, thus underlining the commitment of the “Encore” project to equality and social justice.
By establishing a local complaints management committee, the “Encore” project is committed to dealing effectively and fairly with complaints made by the population. This approach strengthens the transparency and accountability of the stakeholders involved, thus contributing to better governance and the sustainability of the actions undertaken.
In conclusion, the workshop on environmental protection within the framework of the “Encore” project in Kasaï-Central is a crucial step in the implementation of this ambitious program. By promoting the active participation of stakeholders, by ensuring that environmental and social issues are taken into account, this project is resolutely part of a sustainable development and environmental protection approach for future generations..
As responsible citizens, it is incumbent upon all of us to support and participate in such initiatives, which aim to preserve our natural heritage and build a more sustainable future for all.
