The article highlights the importance of the strategic event of the Energy Compact Program in the DRC, aimed at increasing access to electricity. The five key pillars of the program and the call for the participation of public, private and international actors underline the importance of cooperation for the energy development of the country. This workshop represents a unique opportunity to build a sustainable energy future for the DRC, dependent on the commitment of each.
In this month of December 2024, the Ministry of Water Resources and Electricity of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) announces the holding of an event of capital importance for the energy future of the country. Indeed, on December 18 and 19, a strategic workshop will be held at the Hôtel Fleuve Congo in Kinshasa to consult the main actors involved in the implementation of the DRC Energy Compact Program.

This ambitious program aims to significantly increase the rate of access to electricity in the DRC, from 21.5% to 62%. To achieve this, five key pillars have been identified: the development of competitive production and distribution infrastructure, strengthened regional integration, the adoption of decentralized solutions in renewable energy and clean cooking, the mobilization of private investments, as well as efficient and sustainable public management.

The workshop includes plenary sessions and thematic workshops to promote discussions and gather stakeholder opinions. The objective is to define concrete reforms and propose effective measures to improve the governance and performance of the energy sector in the DRC.

All stakeholders, whether public, private or international, are invited to register on the dedicated platform www.compact-energetique.com to actively participate in this major event. The successful implementation of this crucial project will depend on the participation and commitment of each individual.

It is undeniable that energy is a key factor in the economic and social development of a country. By increasing access to electricity, the DRC will be able to stimulate its economic growth, improve the living conditions of its population and strengthen its competitiveness on the international scene.

In conclusion, this strategic workshop appears to be a unique opportunity to bring together the various stakeholders around a common goal: to build a sustainable and prosperous energy future for the Democratic Republic of Congo. The success of this Energy Compact Program will depend on the collective mobilization and commitment of all the actors involved.
