Strengthening cooperation ties between Egypt and Senegal in the fields of defense and counterterrorism remains a priority for Cairo, stressed Khaled Aref, the Egyptian ambassador to Dakar, during a recent meeting with Senegalese Minister of Defense, Birame Diop.
This meeting was an opportunity for the Senegalese minister to welcome the progress made by the Egyptian Armed Forces, expressing his desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation and benefit from Egyptian expertise in the military field. The new Senegalese government is working to guarantee Senegal’s sovereignty in the fields of defense, military industries, agriculture and health.
The minister also expressed his admiration for the achievements of the Egyptian Armed Forces National Service Projects Organization, highlighting its significant contribution to supporting the national economy. He expressed his wish to draw inspiration from this exemplary experience in order to establish a similar model in Senegal.
He also stressed the deep conviction towards the major institutional role of the army in the development process and its contribution to major national enterprises. A vision shared by Egypt, which wants to be a solid partner to support Senegal in its ambitious projects.
This meeting demonstrates the desire of these two nations to strengthen their strategic partnership, fueled by a common vision of supporting development and regional security. Egypt and Senegal thus assert themselves as key players in promoting stability and cooperation in West Africa.
