Horror continues to strike the Democratic Republic of Congo, and more particularly the territory of Kwamouth, where at least ten people were burned alive during a brutal incursion by Mobondo militiamen. The tragedy struck a few kilometers from the village of Aviation, leaving behind a trail of destruction and desolation.
According to information reported by national deputy Guy Musomo on Fatshimetrie radio, nine survivors miraculously survived the devastating flames, but now bear the deep scars of unbearable burns. Transported urgently to the general hospital of Kwamouth, these survivors are fighting not only for their physical health, but also for their mental integrity, forever marked by this atrocity.
The toll of this attack remains incomplete, the total number of injured remains unknown. The cruelty of the Mobondo militia clearly knows no bounds, once again plunging the local population into terror and chaos. Faced with this unacceptable situation, MP Guy Musomo calls on the Government to take firm and effective measures to definitively eradicate this bloodthirsty militia.
This new tragedy raises essential questions about the security of civilians in conflict zones in the DRC, highlighting the urgent need for concerted action to protect vulnerable populations and put an end to the spiral of violence. The atrocities committed by the Mobondo militia cannot go unpunished, and justice must be done so that such barbaric acts are not repeated.
In these dark times, it is crucial to show our solidarity with the victims and support efforts to establish peace and stability in this region ravaged by violence. The international community cannot remain indifferent to such crimes against humanity, and collective action is needed to put an end to this barbarity.
Pending concrete and immediate measures to protect civilian populations and guarantee the security of all, it is essential to maintain pressure on the Congolese authorities and to make the voices of the innocent who suffer in silence heard. The future of the DRC depends on our ability to act together to build a peaceful and just future for all its inhabitants.
