Dismantling of IPOB/ESN terrorist camps: Security forces report major successes

In recent news, troops involved in Operation “UDO KA” conducted clearing operations in the camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN), resulting in the arrest of two suspected terrorists. The action, carried out by troops of the Joint Task Force South East Region, is aimed at ensuring security and stability in the region.

According to the Force’s spokesperson, Lt. Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, the troops cleared the IPOB/ESN Camp at Uhuala-Aku in Okigwe County, Imo. Following credible intelligence, the troops were able to force the militants out of their camp in disarray, forcing them to flee into the adjacent forest. During the operation, various arms and ammunition were seized, as well as a bag containing a human skull, a Toyota Hilux vehicle, radio chargers, and other equipment.

In another sector, two suspects were apprehended in Okposi community, Ebonyi, with the seizure of two homemade pistols, cartridges, and a motorcycle. In addition, another operation conducted by Sector 1 in collaboration with the Department of State Security uncovered an IPOB/ESN camp at Agu Orba Ekwegbe in Enugu State. There, numerous homemade weapons, ammunition, military uniforms and other items were recovered before the camp was destroyed.
