The provincial inspector of agriculture and food safety, Tembo Kasekwa Aniceth, recently undertook a mission to Butembo, a city located in North Kivu, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. His visit began with a meeting with the urban authority on Monday, December 2, 2024, where he explained the purpose of his presence: to restore order in the region’s agricultural sector.
At the heart of his concerns are the various disagreements that have disrupted the proper functioning of services related to agriculture. To remedy this, Tembo Kasekwa Aniceth is committed to bringing together the various entities involved, such as the urban inspection of agriculture, SCAV, SENACEM, SELVEA and CENAFI. His objective is to restore harmony and coordinate the actions of each to ensure optimal working conditions.
The provincial representative emphasizes the importance of referring to the guidelines and tools already put in place by the hierarchy to regulate the activities of the various services. Through orders and circular notes, the responsibilities of each person are clearly defined, and it is up to each person to respect these instructions in order to ensure the smooth running of activities.
Tembo Kasekwa Aniceth highlights the importance of collaboration and cohesion between the different actors in the agricultural sector to achieve the set objectives. His mission is part of a process of reorganization and clarification of tasks, with the aim of optimizing the performance of the sector and guaranteeing the food security of the population.
This working visit to Butembo follows a series of meetings and collaborations initiated by the provincial inspector within the Agricultural Sector Support Project (PASA/North Kivu), thus demonstrating his active involvement in the development and structuring of the agricultural sector in the region.
Ultimately, the presence of Tembo Kasekwa Aniceth in Butembo marks a crucial step in the promotion of more efficient and sustainable agriculture, as well as in the establishment of harmonious working relationships between the different actors in the sector. Through constructive dialogue and optimal coordination, he hopes to contribute to the development and prosperity of local agriculture.
