On the night of Sunday 1 to Monday 2 December 2024, Kinshasa was the scene of a targeted cordon operation orchestrated by the Mont-Ngafula urban police station, in the northern part of the Selembao commune. This intervention, carried out with determination, resulted in the arrest of more than 90 individuals, including a couple of hemp sellers from Kongo Central.

This police action is part of the ongoing fight against urban banditry, a persistent threat to the security of the inhabitants of the capital of the DRC, especially during this end-of-year period. The seizure of a large quantity of hemp from the alleged traffickers testifies to the scale of the criminal activities that are rife in the region.

Senior Commissioner Faustin Munene, Commander of the Mont-Ngafula Urban Police Station, stressed that these operations were carried out on clear instructions from the Provincial Police Commissioner, Blaise Kilimbalimba.
