The deplorable sanitary conditions further aggravate their ordeal, with sick children and a population exposed to mosquitoes.
Despite the initial assistance provided by the City Hall, the needs of the victims remain dire. Faced with this dramatic situation, the President of the Zongo Civil Society is calling on the provincial and national authorities for urgent intervention. The identification of victims is underway, but the urgency of the situation requires a rapid and effective response.
The presidential decision to create a new city in Nzulu for the victims is a glimmer of hope, but its implementation is slow to materialize. It is imperative that the authorities move from words to action and come to the aid of these populations in distress.
