Kinshasa, October 11, 2024 – The Caritas Network in the Democratic Republic of Congo is preparing to experience a crucial moment with the 5th National Forum to be held from October 16 to 18, 2024 at the Caritas Reception Center in Kinshasa/Gombe. Under the ambitious theme “The Caritas Network in the Democratic Republic of Congo, more effective and more united to build resilient and flourishing communities together”, this event aims to strengthen actions serving the most vulnerable populations in the country.
Organized under the leadership of Caritas Congo ASBL, this forum represents a unique opportunity for reflection and exchanges for all actors involved in the Caritas network in the DRC. Guy-Marin Kamandji, communications officer at Caritas, underlines the importance of this meeting to raise awareness about good governance, strengthen the commitment of partners and promote Christian values in a more just and fraternal society.
The main objective of the 5th National Forum is to define strategic orientations and priority actions for the period from January 2025 to December 2030. The debates will focus on crucial themes such as partnership, governance and the construction of an effective and supportive Caritas network, involved in building resilient and prosperous communities in the DRC.
This major meeting will be an opportunity for participants to share their experiences, learn from each other and imagine innovative approaches to better serve vulnerable populations. It is also about strengthening cooperation within the Caritas network in the DRC, by promoting mutual trust and subsidiarity to increase the effectiveness and impact of interventions for the most deprived.
Around 100 participants, including the National Executive Secretariat of Caritas Congo ASBL, the Directors/Coordinators of Caritas-Développement, the Directors of Provincial Caritas, the Technical and Financial Partners of the Caritas Internationalis Network, as well as experts and special guests, will take part in these constructive discussions, aimed at revitalizing humanitarian action within Caritas in the DRC.
In conclusion, this 5th National Forum of the Caritas Network in the DRC promises to be an essential meeting for all stakeholders involved in development and support for the most vulnerable populations in the country.
